REIKI

Reiki (RAY-key) is a 5,000-year-old natural, spiritual healing technique. It heals by laying-on hands using spiritually guided life force energy. It is a holistic, and uses the healing body, mind and spirit of both the practitioner and the client, and as such has a healing effect on both parties. Berkana has several Reiki practitioners all of whom have training within the six levels of Reiki. Email us or call us at 231-775-3414 to make an appointment or consider particpating in one of Berkana's Reiki Healing Circles. Reiki can be used to:

Originating in part with the Ling Chi of the Chinese Taoists and the Tibetan Norbu-Linka, Reiki was rediscovered by Dr. Mikao Usai, a Japanese Christian minister in the 1800's. His purpose was to discover how Christ healed the sick. During his 10 year quest, he studied the teachings of Christ and the sacred literature of Japan, China, India and Tibet. While Reiki is spiritual in nature, it is not a religion. There is no dogma and there is nothing you must believe in order to benefit from the use of Reiki.

Treatment

A standard treatment includes placing the hands-on positions around the head, shoulders, stomach and feet. Other positions may be used for specific conditions the client may have. Each position is held for a short period of time and the entire treatment lasts approximately 45 minutes.

Reiki is healing energy that comes directly from the highest source. Reiki has its own intelligence and knows exactly where to go and what to do. Healing will follow what ever brings the highest good for the client and will aid healing at whatever level is most needed - body, mind or spirit. The healing is not directed by the practitioner. Reiki is a simple but powerful process that can be learned by anyone. The Reiki practitioner is often healed as well when giving a treatment and always experiences an increase in life force energy.
